Kier Holmes is the author of The Garden Refresh with Timber Press and has a new garden book with the Ruth Bancroft Garden coming out in 2025. Kier also creates original digital and print content and her writing has been featured in various publications, focusing on gardens, plants, lifestyle, and nature-related topics.

Kier has worked as a school garden educator and has taught science and mad science to children at local public libraries, plus speaks regularly about gardening.

Thriving on a variety of skills and interests, Kier offers garden coaching with a hands-on, one-on-one walkthrough of a garden, plus designs and maintains gardens in Marin County, specializing on gardens that embrace low-water use, year-round interest, deer resistance, productivity, and climate appropriateness while honoring client desires and unique needs.

When not writing, gardening, teaching, or taking photographs, Kier enjoys spending time with her freakishly creative and inspiring son and husband.
